One aspect that small businesses are very concerned about is finances, especially when it comes to marketing.

While most of the small businesses might not be able to market their brands like the big wigs of the industry, social media surely gives them a fair opportunity to make it big. From including share buttons on your blog, to adding badges to your site, there are plenty of ways to integrate your small business websites into social media.

Here are a few simple tips that are ideal for small businesses to generate more traffic to their website without having to spend a fortune.

Images and social media

Studies have shown that people usually tend to respond more to images on social media than any other form of content. As a small business, you must try to leverage this fact to generate traffic to your blog.

It is recommended to post at least one image on your social media accounts every business day. This image could be of anything between products, trade shows, services, business milestones, conferences, or any other business event.

Creativity

It is also a good practice to post content that your followers are interested in, and not only what you want to promote. Be creative and funny, it is not good to only keep pushing your products all the time. This generates a lively atmosphere about your social media accounts, and your fans will begin to associate your business itself as being lively.

Try to post a daily tip, a random fact, or even something as simple as a question. Keep it humorous and interesting to get more responses. When you follow this model, you will begin to see that your interaction increases automatically.

Keep your prospects engaged

It is not enough to just have a social media presence. You need to use social media to engage your customers in order to get more responses. Always remember that engagement is not limited to your posts. You must also reply to your customers, answer any questions they may have, re-tweet, and ‘like’ what your customers share every once in a while.

Being consistent

Make sure that all your social media accounts convey the same thing. One of the biggest mistakes you can ever do is to name your social media accounts differently.

If the names of your ‘Facebook page’ and your ‘Twitter handle’ are different, there is a good chance that your followers may get confused. As a result, you may lose some of your valuable prospects.

Building relationships

Social media is not meant only for the advertisement your products. It is also a platform where you can interact with your customers. In fact, you must interact with your customers on social media.

This however, does not mean you must completely avoid promotional activity; the implication is that you must not dedicate social media solely for promotion.

Use social media to give your customers a personal experience about your business and products. You can do this through many ways- providing tips, information, answering queries, and so on. This will make your customers trust you more, and they will reward you with their loyalty.
